SUE
In memory of Ant Ibbie from sue Last night as I lay the memories I recall. That you have left for us all. Ant ibbie you were like a mother to me. And all the questions as I recall. You had a scripture for them all. The bible you lived by every day. You always helped someone find the way. By telling us about Jesus birth and how we would have to leave this earth. Your brothers and sisters I sure you have seen. To your mom and dad it's no longer a dream. To uncle Charlie its been a long wait. To your sister you have left on earth, she has loved you from your birth. Now that she feels so all alone. With your sweet smile she must go on until she can meet you in that heavenly home. Where as children once again you all can roam. So today ant ibbie we must all say good by. For up in heaven I know you won't cry. So once again we say good by. (John 14:18 KJV) I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

We are all very blessed that Aunt Ibbie is now in Heaven with all of her loved ones who have been waiting so long. I'm thankful she didn't have to spend another minute living away from any of us who would have taken her to live in our home and loved her every day. That's what she needed these last few years of her life. She was more than special. She truly lived the Golden Rule and was an example for all of us. I loved to share time and hear stories of her youth and about my dad. He lived with her and Charlie for a short time when they first got married. My dad was a practical joker. She told me she wasn't a very good cook at the time but she was trying. My dad (Billie Barton) was getting ready to leave when Charlie had just got home for supper. Earlier that day, Aunt Ibbie had tried to make a chocolate pie and it didn't turn out right. Aunt Ibbie told dad "Billie now don't say anything to Charlie about that pie. I'm not going to give him any. I think it tastes funny." Well dad was walking by the kitchen where they were finishing up eating and dad said to Charlie what are ya'll having for desert? Ibbie opened up those saucer eyes of hers and looked at dad. Charlie said I don't think we have anything do we Ibbie? My dad, who always called her Ibbie Jane said "Ibbie Jane, I know you were making something chocolate today because I smelled it and it smelled real good." Aunt Ibbie had to go get the pie. LOL LOL And, being newlyweds, Charlie said he liked it - guess we will never know for sure. LOL such a cute story. My dad was so close to Aunt Ibbie. They talked on the phone throughout the years. If Dad needed something, he would call Aunt Ibbie. He loved her so much and said she was a fine lady. So true. She visited us in Poplar Bluff when I was 15. She was with Uncle Lendon, Aunt Mary and Joann or Vernie, I can't remember. My dad died November 30, 1994. So Aunt Ibbie died 20 years and 4 days after Dad. She also told me this one which really showed how independent she was and forward thinking. She said "Teresa, you won't believe what I'm about to tell you." I said "Oh really?" I was thinking I can't wait to hear this. She smiled her bashful smile and said "I ask Charlie Boyd to marry me." I said "Really, you're right that is hard to believe." She said well we had been going together for months and I kept thinking he would ask me and time kept going and he didn't ask. Well one evening, he came over and it was pouring rain outside so I decided I was going to ask him. We were sitting on the couch in that house up on the hill and I said "Charlie will you marry me?" and he said "Yes, let's go do it today." Then she said "well we don't have to go do it today. I just want to know why you haven't asked me?" He said "I was afraid you would say no." LOL LOL Then he said let's get our coats and go do it right now please. And they did. That was such a cute story. She loved telling it. Aunt Ibbie I will be the honest, warm, loving, Christian lady that you always were. I always follow the Golden Rule since first grade. You are right here in my heart and you always will be. One day in Heaven we can swap stories again and you and Catherine can have a cake bake-off. Until that day, we will all behave down here by forgiving others and let Jesus guide us, we will pray and we will miss you so much.I always loved spending time with you and our 1 to 2 hour phone conversations. You never aged. You were so smart and quick. The year you had that huge blizzard I believe it was Dec 2012, that big yellow cat came right up to your porch out of no where. You took him in and fed and loved him. I'm praying that I dream of you and dad tonight. I miss you so.Love you eternally, Teresa, Mark and
