Edgar A. Rice
Jo Ann,
I was so sorry to hear of your husband's death. I understand the pain you are going through and want to extend my heartfelt sympathy to you and your family.
I lost my wife six years ago and I understand how difficult it is for you. I still think about her every day and while it gets easier, it is always a constant feeling of remorse. I know that you will have so many memories of your years together.
I only saw Ralph at the Class of 1958 reunions and other functions but my impression was that he was a good man. He always had a quiet and serious look about him. I pray that the 54 years of memories will ease the pain and help you in the days and weeks ahead. Several of our classmates have gone through this valley as you and I. I am sure Jim and Emma will be there for you, Emma spoke very highly of you and Ralph. I know your son Tim married their daughter Missy.
I think I can speak for the entire Haysi High School Class of 1958 when I say I am so sorry and if there is anything we can do to help you through these troubled times we will be there for you.
I hope you will find peace and comfort in the days ahead.
In Deep Sympathy,
Edgar A, Rice
