Obituary for Darrel Fayne Blankenship

Darrel Fayne  Blankenship
Vansant, VA- Darrel Fayne Blankenship, age 77 of Stagecoach Road, passed away Monday, February 6, 2017 at his home. Born in Buchanan County, he was a son of the late Noah and Emily Gay Owens Blankenship. He served in the U.S. Army, was a coal miner and Member of UMWA Local #2888 and American Legion Post #7360. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Raythen Fayne Blankenship, a son-in-law, Roger Taylor, a brother, Jerrel Blankenship and sister, Sherry Church.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Sue Blankenship, two daughters, Theresa Taylor of North Webster, IN and Anita (Brett) Woodward of McConnelsville, OH, grandchildren, Declan Bryce Blankenship, Bradley Taylor, Eric Hanson, Marisa Scholl, Zachary Hanson and Braden Woodward, two sisters, Cynthia Viers of Haysi and Rita (Otis) Richardson of Mtn. City, TN.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2017 at Haysi Funeral Home with Devey Owens officiating.
