CLAYTON DEWEY YATES
Grundy, VA- Clayton Dewey Yates, age 54 of Sunset Hollow, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Buchanan General Hospital in Grundy, VA. Born in Buchanan County, he was a son of the late Burlin and Dorothy Deel Yates. He was employed for Buchanan County PSA and was of the Old Regular Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-son, Marcus Justus and a brother, Benny L. Yates.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Yates, a son, Nicholas Clayton Yates of Grundy and a daughter, Martha Ellen (Christopher) Rife of Vansant, 2 grandchildren, Madison Faith Rife and Natalie Brooke Rife, two brothers, Jackie (Brenda) Yates of Grundy and Danny Ray Yates of Lebanon, sisters, Kathleen (Bradford) Boyd of Grundy and Lucille (Jad) Justus of Bristol, TN.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2017 at Russell Prater Old Regular Baptist Church with Elders, Toy Looney, Lance Looney, Danny O’quinn and Jackie Yates officiating. Burial will follow in Yates Cemetery, Haysi, VA. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
