KATIE “MARIE” CRAIG
Bristol, VA- Katie “Marie” Craig, age 86, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Greystone Healthcare in Blountville, TN. Born in Buchanan County, she was a daughter of the late Elder John and Virgie Foster Hess. She was a homemaker and attended Mt. View Old Regular Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 1st husband, Joseph Turnbull and 2nd husband, Clarence Craig, brothers, James Arthur Hess, Preston Hugh Hess and John Hess Jr. and sisters, Grace Lambert, Sarah Hess and Cora Pearl Justice.
Survivors include three daughters, Diana (Rex) Kennedy, Venita Martins and Jackie (Neil) Koivu, a son, John Turnbull, a step-daughter, Arilla Depew, a brother, Bill Hess of FL, 9 grandchildren, Keith (Kris) Kennedy, Lisa Koivu (Randal Slate),Neil Koivu Jr.(Lydia Hall), Tracie Koivu (Brian Stone) Joseph Martin E-3 U.S. Navy Stationed on USS Ronald Reagan, Chester Reynolds, Michael Reynolds, Candy Mae Baker, Jeremy (Valerie) Baker, 12 great-grandchildren, Alexis, Alyssa, William, Nick, Jacob, Trisha, Jonathon, Ann Marie, Gabriel, Madison, Rachel, Erica and one on the way and 3 great-great grandchildren, Bradyn, Braxton and Noah.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Mountain View Old Regular Baptist Church with Elders Roger Coleman, Larry Puckett, Terry O’quinn, Mark Justice, Toy Looney and Andy Deel officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Birchleaf, VA. Pallbearers will be nephews.
