Freddy J. Turner
Haysi, VA – Freddy James Turner, age 81, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2015 at Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, TN. Born September 6, 1934 on Road Branch, Fred was a Christian and a member of Splashdam Freewill Baptist Church for 39 years. He retired from Clinchfield Coal Company. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orbie and Rosie Turner, daughter, Dena Millette Turner and sister, Jearlene Turner.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Ann (Jibb) Turner; a son Kevin James (Penny) Turner of Canton, GA; brothers, Lee (Sheila) Turner of Wise, VA, Billy Joe (Virginia) Turner and Dennis (Mary/deceased) Turner all
of Clinchco, VA; a sister, Myrlene (Casby/deceased) O’Quinn of Clinchco, VA; two grandchildren, Sasha (Seth) Typer and Brandy Turner and two great grandchildren, Briley Blake and Witten James Typer all of Canton, GA.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Splashdam Freewill Baptist Church with Danny Sluss, Gary Sullivan and Seth Typer officiating. Burial will follow in the Bud and Bill Mullins Cemetery, Haysi, VA. Pallbearers will be Seth Typer, Ermel Owens, Ian Fleming, Elijah Owens, Scott Mullins, Isaac Mullins, Peyton Mullins, Brandon Bartley. and Benny Stallard. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Splashdam Freewill Baptist Church, Lee Turner, Billy Joe Turner, Dennis Turner, and Myrlene O’Quinn.
