Obituary for Helen Pearl Thomas (Bostic)

Helen Pearl  Thomas (Bostic)
Vansant, VA- Helen Pearl Thomas, age 88, of Murphy Road, passed away Monday, August 24, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. Born in Dickenson County, February 26, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Alex and Laura Duty Bostic. She was a homemaker and member of Big Fox Community Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Thomas, three infant children, Hiwatha, Betty Jean and Ralph, a sister, Agnes Jones and three brothers, Ransome, Leonard and Raymond Bostic, also preceding her was her adopted daughter by heart, Stella Bostic, 2 step-sons, Raymond and Homer Thomas, a step-daughter, Ruby Thomas and a step-granddaughter, Belinda Stein all which were considered her own.
Survivors include her daughter, Peggy (Neil) Edwards of Birchleaf, three sons, Hugh (Eva) Thomas Jr. and Lonnie (Geneva) Thomas both of Vansant and Denver (Sandy) Thomas of Cedar Bluff, a step-daughter, Juanita Stover of Nashville, TN, a sister, Deladis (Earnest) O’Quinn of Brookville, OH, five brothers, Norman Bostic, Cuba (Dorothy) Bostic, Donald (Velva) Bostic all of Vansant, Russell Bostic of Davenport and William (Sherry) Bostic of Lewisburg, OH, 13 grandchildren, Miranda, Shawn, Shey, Denny, Shenna, Kayla, Craig, Jada, Katie, Devin, Lily, Ally and Ayden, 4 great-grandchildren, Jake, Morgann, Tayler and Isaiah, several step-grandchildren, several step-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, also special grandsons, Raymond (Angie) Thomas Jr. and Hadley (Kathy) Bostic.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Big Fox Community Church with Lester Boyd and Edward Tiller officiating. Burial will follow in Thomas Family Cemetery, Vansant, VA. Pallbearers will be Jeff Colley, Ralph Colley, Gene Bostic, Jeff Bostic, Keith Boyd, Ova Collins, Hadley Bostic, and Jason Cline. Grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church with an evening service at 7:00 p.m.
