Obituary for Carl Dean Smith

Carl Dean  Smith
CARL DEAN SMITH
Haysi, Va- Carl Dean Smith, age 60 of Melvin Ridge, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Norton Community Hospital in Norton, VA. Born in Corbin, KY, he was a son of Escar and Betty Fuller Smith. He was last employed as a coal miner and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Diane Smith.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife, Bertha Smith, two sons, Todd Smith of Corbin, KY and Jason Barton of Haysi, a daughter, Dee and husband Lewis Wilder of Barbourville, KY, four grandchildren, Emily, Sarah, Lewis Carl and Ayla and a brother, Randy Smith of Corbin, KY.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Haysi Funeral Home with Denver Barton officiating. Burial will follow in Titus Conaway Cemetery, Haysi, VA. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 25 at the funeral home with an evening service at 7:00 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com Haysi Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
