Obituary for David Crockett Blankenship

David Crockett Blankenship
Rowe, VA- David Crockett Blankenship Jr., age 48, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands, VA. Born in Buchanan County, he was a son of Jane Boyd Blankenship and the late Elder David C. Blankenship. He was last employed as a truck driver for Omega Holdings LLC and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Eddie Matthew and a nephew, Eric.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Sue Ellen Blankenship, a daughter, Sophia Hope Blankenship, four brothers, Ronald “Gump” (Samantha) Blankenship, Clay (Lillian) Blankenship, Kermit (Patricia) Blankenship all of Grundy and Randy (Renee) Blankenship of TN, two sisters, Mary (William) Owens of Haysi and Tina (MacArthur) Fields of Grundy and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Haysi Funeral Home with Jackie Yates and George Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Blankenship Cemetery, Grundy, VA. Pallbearers will be nephews and friends. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2014 at the funeral home with an evening service at 7:00 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com Haysi Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
