LOIS JEAN DEEL
Vansant, VA- Lois Jean Deel, age 78 of Leemaster Drive, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013 at her home. Born in Buchanan County, she was a daughter of the late Levi “L.A.” and Mae Bell Yates Coleman. She had worked as a seamstress at Honaker Mills, Eastern Isles and Lebanon Apparel. She was a homemaker and member of Sullivan Branch Pentecostal Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Cecil Deel, a daughter, Venessia Diane Deel, sisters, Vic Shultz and Edith Stuller, three brothers, Walter, Jack and Roy Coleman.
Survivors include a son, Ronald K. (Zella) Deel of Vansant, four daughters, Teresa Tester, Louella (June) Ratliff, Lori (Vester) Runyon and Rita (Paul) Justus all of Vansant, a step-granddaughter, Mandy Deel,10 grandchildren, Keith, Doug, Greg, Shane, Sheena, Jarrod, Sarah, Anthony, Stephen and Branston, 9 great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Ethan, Abby, Landon, Zachary, Teria, Arabella, Alex, Kinzie, Katlyn and expecting baby Barton, a sister, Lottie Ratliff and a brother, Hershel Coleman.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Haysi Funeral Home with Jeff Tiller, Keith Harris and Roy Lee Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Silas Deel Cemetery, Vansant, VA. Pallbearers will be Grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Sullivan Branch Pentecostal Church, Roger Gilbert, Robert Tiller, Roy Lee Wilson and sons-in-law. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at the funeral home with a song service at 7:00 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com Haysi Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
