Clinchco, VA – David Turner, age 50 of Turner Road passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Dickenson Community Hospital, Clintwood, VA. Born in Dickenson County he was a son of the late Leonard Vernon and Millie Woods Turner. He was a disabled coal miner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Rufus and Eugene Turner.
Survivors include his wife, Vickie Willis Turner; a son, Joshua David Turner of Clinchco, VA; two brothers, Hardaway (Norma) Turner of Clintwood, VA and James (Rosie) Turner of Clinchco, VA; and two sisters, Mary (James) Deel of Clintwood, VA and Pauline (Frankie) Newsome of Haysi, VA.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2013 at Haysi Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Willis officiating. Burial will follow in the Turner Cemetery, Clinchco, VA. Pallbearers will be Matthew Willis, Adam Willis, Jonathan Mullins, Grayson Grizzle, Craig Deel and Donavan Turner. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Thursday where an evening service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. with Elder Frank Newsome officiating.
