Obituary for Jimmy Wayne Counts
HAYSI-Elder Jimmy Wayne Counts, age 64 of Dark Hollow passed away Friday, May 12, 2023 at his residence. Born in Richlands, Virginia he was a son of the late Brady “Gene” and Gaynell Deel Counts. He was a member and Elder of the Primitive Baptist Church. He was a former coal miner and last employed as a bus driver with Four County Transit.
Survivors include his wife Sherry Counts, two sons, Terry (Stephanie) Counts and Austin Counts both of Haysi, VA, step-son, Kevin (Alyshia) Mullins, Clintwood, VA, step-daughter, Amanda (Chris) Honaker, Clintwood, VA, eight grandchildren, Sidney Counts, Brady Counts, Savannah (Justin) Moore, Holly (Logan) Harris, Shelby Moore, Cody Honaker, Nick Honaker and Lincoln Myles Mullins, brother, Ronald Counts, Haysi, VA and sister, Rhonda (Kenny) Childress, Haysi, VA, three nephews, Ronald Counts, Jr., Matthew Childress, and Craig Childress.
Funeral Service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 15, 2023 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders, Roger Fuller, Jim Duty and Noah Kim Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Counts Family Cemetery, Dark Hollow, Haysi, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m.at the funeral home Sunday, May 14, 2023 where an evening service will be held at 7:00 p.m. with Elders Corbin Hampton, Ked Stacy and Henry Cantrell officiating.
