Shannon Mullins
Council, VA – Shannon Mullins, age 77 of Copperhead Road, passed away Friday, January 6, 2023 at Clinch Valley Medical Center with family surrounding him, after a hard fought battle with pneumonia. Born in Dickenson County, he was a son of the late Patton and June Mullins Mullins and was last employed as a coal miner. He was a member of the UMWA, and a lover of all things music. He was of the Christian faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Luster and Bob Mullins and a sister, Suzie Mullins.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Mae Mullins, two daughters, Dedra Mullins and LaLisa Mullins of Bee, VA, a son, Matthew Mullins of Council, VA, mother-in-law, Snoda Rose, brothers; Ralph Mullins, Roy Mullins, Munroe (Becky) Mullins, sisters; Cassie Edwards, Dorothy (Dean) Deel, and Betsy Stiltner, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be conducted 12:00 noon Monday, January 9, 2023 at Haysi Funeral Home with Christian Yates officiating. Burial will follow in the J.S. Willis Cemetery, Haysi, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends after 11:00 a.m. on Monday prior to the funeral service at 12:00.
