Obituary for Lottie Ratliff (Coleman)

Lottie Coleman Ratliff of Murphy Road Vansant, Virginia completed her journey to her Heavenly home on Thursday, December 8, 2022, making her stay here on Earth 93 years, 10 months and 25 days. She was blessed to depart this life at her home where she would be surrounded by and cared for by her family who loved her so dearly.
Lottie was born January 13, 1929 to the late Levi and Mae Bell Yates Coleman. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kindred, two sons, Phillip and Steven Ratliff, one daughter, Rhonda Breeding, great-granddaughter Harper Vivienne Keene, three sisters, Edith Stuller, Vic Shultz and Lois Deel, and four brothers, Walter, Jack, Roy and Clinton Coleman. She was the last surviving member of her generation.
Survivors included two sons, Michael (Carolyn) Ratliff of Haysi, Virginia, Gary (Belinda) Ratliff of Morristown Tennessee, one daughter, Tammy (Rick) Mullins of Clintwood, Virginia, seven grandchildren, Jeremy (Teresa) Ratliff, Amanda (Jackson) Breeding-Keene, Jacob, Victoria and Joseph Ratliff, Chandler and Jordan Mullins, two great-grandchildren, Harlow Mae and Jackson Neil II, special niece, Teresia Tester as well as a host of extended family who loved her like a mother. Lottie was a wonderful, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. She was a homemaker who loved to have a well kept house, cook and raised a huge garden as long as her health permitted. She loved being outdoors, feeding the birds and tending her garden and her flowers. She loved to attend area Primitive Baptist churches and was strong in her faith in the Lord. Pallbearers will be Rick Mullins, Chandler Mullins, Jordan Mullins, Jeremy Ratliff, Roger Coleman, Shane Ratliff, Jackson Keene and Mark Austin. Honorary pallbearers will be Ernest Deel, Glenn Deel, Ronnie Deel, Paul Justus and Dr Rimon Ibrahim. A memorial service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Noah Kim Edwards, Jim Duty, and Garnell Gilbert officiating. Lottie's family wish to send a special thank you to caregivers Lora Gilbert, Tina Baker and Home Nursing of Lebanon, Virginia. Also to the staff of Haysi Drug Center in Haysi for the love they showed her throughout the years.
