Obituary for Charlie Richard Turner

CLINCHCO - Charlie Richard Turner, age 83 of Turner Road, passed away October 23, 2022 at Norton Community Hospital. He was the son of the late Floyd and Phoebe Mitchell Turner. He was of the Baptist faith, a graduate of Ervinton High School, and was a lifetime member of the Haysi-Clinchco Lions Club. He was last employed as co-owner and operator of Keen Mountain Auto Parts.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Gaynell Sykes, Bertha Artrip, Goldia Mitchell and six brothers, Jonny B, Maloy, Orbie, George, Hansel and Clarence Turner.
Survivors include his wife, Katy Turner, one son, Ritchie (Michelle) Turner, Clinchco, VA and one daughter, Kristie (Shannon) Mullins of Fall Branch, TN. Six grandchildren, Caleb Mullins, Kayla Dahley, Austin Mullins, Dustin Mullins, Faith Turner, Jeremy Blankenship, two great grandchildren, Remington Blankenship, Ronan Blankenship and one brother, Ray Turner of Haysi also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders, Kendrick Turner and Thomas Hill officiating. Pallbearers will be Austin Mullins, Dustin Mullins, Jeremy Blankenship, Donnie Turner, Daniel Turner, Donovan Turner and Caleb Mullins. A visitation will start at 6:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Turner Cemetery, Clinchco, VA with Elder, Larry Hargett officiating. Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com.
