Haysi, VA – Trula Deel O’Quinn, age 91 of Old Greenbrier Road, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, KY. Born in Buchanan County, she was a daughter of the late Noah and Cora O’Quinn Deel. She was last employed as the owner and operator of D & O Grocery. She was of the Old Regular Baptist Faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Jones O’Quinn, a son, Gary O’Quinn, grandson, Corey O’Quinn, a brother, Bob Deel and sister-in-law Betty Shelton O’Quinn.
Survivors include two sons, Dennis O’Quinn of Columbus, OH and Jarell O’Quinn of Haysi, VA, three grandchildren, Matthew O’Quinn, Geoffery “Erin” O’Quinn, and Jessee O’Quinn, two great-grandchildren Brooklyn O’Quinn and Liam (Angel Stevens) O’Quinn and one sister Bonnie O’Quinn of Haysi, VA.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders, Ronnie Deel, Buster Mullins, Steve Lyall, Danny Yates and Eddie Newsome officiating. The family will receive friends after 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow in the Bud Deel Cemetery, Haysi, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
