With our hearts full of love and sadness for the loss of our Mother, we want to share the story of her life with our family and friends.
Helen was born November 24, 1943 to Corbet and Peggy Conway O’Quin. Mom was born number 6 of 13 children, and was raised in a 3-room log cabin upon a hill at Laurel Branch.
Helen married Jimmy Colley on March 10, 1967, and they made their home in Haysi. After Jimmy’s death, Helen married her second husband, Roger Rose of Haysi. Helen loved her family, and her forever fur baby, Pollyann. She really enjoyed fishing, especially because she could always seem to catch more, and bigger fish than Roger! She also enjoyed reading, gardening, watching the birds at her bird feeder, and cooking a big meal for her family!
We are thankful for the years we have had together and the happy memories we have made. We look forward to a reunion in Heaven someday.
