Elsie Jane Bartley
Haysi, VA – Elsie Jane Bartley, age 76 of Dickenson Highway passed away Monday, June 21, 2021 at her daughter’s home. Born in Buchanan County, she was a daughter of the late Ervin and Velvie Roberts Yates. Elsie was a homemaker and a member of the freewill Baptist church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Moscoe Yates.
Survivors include her daughters, Daisy (Dean) Yates and Margaret “Liz” (Don) Fleming both of Haysi, VA and Gloria (Joey) Bowman of Clintwood, VA; her grandchildren, Nicholas (Kara) Yates, Alex (Stephanie) Yates, Tristan Yates, Kasey (Shawn) Newsome, Holly Fuller, Chris (Kayla) Boyd, Nathan (Ashley) Boyd, Silas Boyd, Isaac (Brittany) Fleming and Dillon Fleming; several great-grandchildren; brother, Billy (Debbie) Yates; sister, Irene “Okie” (Gary) Steria and sister-in-law, Fannie Yates.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Haysi Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Sluss officiating. Burial will follow in the Parrott Deel Cemetery, Haysi, VA. Grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home, where an evening service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com.
