Bee, VA – Cynthia Turner Duty, age 86 of Sandlick Road passed away Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Clinch Valley Medical Center, Richlands, VA. Born in Dickenson County, she was a daughter of the late Wilson and Delphia Deel Turner. She was of the primitive Baptist faith, she was a homemaker, loved all her children, gardening, canning, quilting, bluegrass music and making people laugh. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Melster Duty; a daughter, Debbie Lynn Duty; siblings, Boone, Delmond, Wiley, Alpha Cochran, Maria, Tivis, Nora Cochran, Virgil, Pansy Biliter, Izora Ford, Prudy Kellum and Bobby.

Survivors include her children, Jeffery (Audrey Stroehlein) Duty, Lyle (Becky) Duty, Tammy (Jimmy) Barton, Brenda (Scott Johnson) and Linda Duty; grandchildren, Joshua Barton, Joey (Deanna) Barton, Jaren (Lacey) Barton, Tiffany Harper, Krista (David Bryan) Oquin and Kendra (Tyler) Mullins; great grandchildren, Avery, Kaley, Evan, Zack, Kenley, Lily, Toby, Ellie, Archer, Maddy, Emaley and Cassidy; and siblings, Rachel Fuller and Kennith Turner.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Garnell Gilbert and Jim Duty officiating. Burial will follow in the Duty Cemetery, Bee, VA. Pallbearers will be Josh, Joey, Jaren and Jimmy Barton, David Oquin, Tyler Mullins, Rickey and Levi Duty and John Ingram. Honorary pallbearers will be Krista Oquin, Tiffany Harper, Kendra Mullins, Deanna and Lacey Barton and Kathy Ingram. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home where an evening service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. with Danny Sluss and Denver Barton.
