Obituary for Ricky Don Looney
Ricky Don Looney, age 62, of Breaks, VA passed away Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY.
Born in Richlands, VA, he was the son of Emma Jean Looney Mullins and the late Blane Looney. He was last employed in the coal industry and was of the Old Regular Baptist faith. He served as a Deacon at the Bartlick Old Regular Baptist Church.
In addition to his mother and stepfather, Jim Mullins, he is survived by his wife, Brenda Looney; two children Donna (Scott) Burke of Dry Ridge, KY and Tracy (Rick) Mathena of Greeneville, TN; two grandchildren Hailey Burke and Riley Mathena, one sister Regina (Ricky Dean) O’quin and one stepbrother Darrell (Vicki) Mullins.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders, Rick Mullins, Ralph Mullins, Roger Coleman, Jerry Overstreet and Larry Puckett officiating. Burial will follow in the KS Colley Cemetery, Breaks, VA. Pallbearers will be Scott Burke, Rick Mathena, Larry Looney, Dwayne Looney, Dave Mullins and Mack Hayes. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the Haysi Funeral Home, where an evening service will be held at 7 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com.
