HAYSI, VA – Helen Arbutus Owens, age 79 of Laurel Branch Road, Haysi, VA passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, TN. She was the daughter of the late John and Bertha Arrington Owens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers Don Owens and Ralph Owens. She was the owner and operator of JDM Deli Marts and was a member of Frying Pan Independent Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Denechia (Keith) Edwards, Haysi, VA, two sons, Joey (Diana Stapleton) Owens, Haysi, VA and Mickey (Amy) Owens, Haysi, VA., sister, Wilma (Mike) Fuller, and three brothers, Eddie (Ann) Owens, Jerry (Doris) Owens and Gary Owens. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, Krista (Chris) Anderson, Tabitha (Kevin) Stanley, Cody Edwards, Andy (Erin) Edwards, Brittney (Mark) Blankenship, Toby Edwards, Maggie (Ryan) Mullins, Austin Owens, Gavin Owens and Zoe Owens, seven great grandchildren, Caden Anderson, Parker Anderson, Sophie Anderson, Collin Stanley, Lucas Blankenship, Isaiah Blankenship and Enslee Blankenship.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, February 11, 2021 at
11:00 a.m. at Splashdam Freewill Baptist Church with Paul Rose officiating. Burial will follow at Arrington Cemetery, Laurel Branch. Pallbearers will be Cody Edwards, Toby Edwards, Andy Edwards, Gavin Owens, Austin Owens, Ryan Mullins, Mark Blankenship and Chris Anderson. honorary Pallbearer will be Kevin Stanley.

A Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 10, 2021 after 4:30 P.M. with a song service to follow at 7 p.m.
