Vansant, VA- Shane Tyler Lester, age 26, passed away Friday, November 13, 2020. Born in Richlands, VA, he was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a Council High School graduate, Class of 2012. Tyler was last employed as a coal miner. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a loving son, brother, father and friend. Tyler was a friend to everyone he met. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, John Henry Lester of Vansant and Berkley Stevens of Council.
Tyler is survived by his parents, Debbie and Scotty Yates of Vansant, Godparents, Jake and Shelli Jackson, a sister, Lexi (Jordan) Ball of Bristol, two children, Noah and Nora Lester of WV, grandmothers, Brenda Lester of Vansant and Pearlene Stevens of Council, Jeff Stevens of Council and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Haysi Funeral Home with Denver Barton officiating. Burial will follow in Lester Cemetery, Vansant, VA. Pallbearers will be Henry, Michael, and John Lester, and Cole Yates and Jake and Derick Jackson. Honorary pallbearers will be Jordan Ball and Ryan Honaker.
