Haysi, VA- Lacy Wayne Edwards, age 73 of Big Ridge Road, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2020 at Dickenson Community Hospital in Clintwood, VA. Born in Dickenson County, he was a son of the late Arnold and Evelyn Frazier Edwards. He was last employed in maintenance at Centennial Heights Housing Development and was a member at Tarpon Freewill Baptist church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Dana and Junior Edwards, a sister, Nancy Holstein and sister-in-law, Brenda Edwards.
Survivors include his wife, Nan, children, Larry (Salena) Edwards of Haysi and Regina (Rocky) Conaway of Clintwood, grandchildren, Jamie (Shae) Edwards, Justin Edwards, Jesse Edwards, Travis Conaway and Trevor Conaway, step-grandchildren, Brandon and Tanner Hess, great-grandchildren, Eli and Paisley Edwards, Siblings, Greg Edwards, Vicki (Eugene) Mullins both of Clintwood, Sherry (Leroy) Yates of Haysi, several brothers and sisters-in-law, several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Family sends special thanks to Dr. Vijay Kumar.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 18, 2020 at Tarpon Freewill Baptist Church with Jerry Vitatoe officiating. Burial will follow in Bartley-Hill Cemetery, Haysi, VA. Pallbearers will be Jamie, Justin and Jesse Edwards, Travis and Trevor Conaway, Joe Yates and Eric Edwards and Brandon Mullins. Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon and Tanner Hess and Eli and Paisley Edwards. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Haysi Funeral Home with an evening service at 7:00 p.m. with Matthew Fuller officiating. Online condolences may be sent to Haysi Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
