Vansant, VA- Barbara Ann Coleman, age 54 of Cranesnest Road, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2020 at Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, TN. Born in Buchanan County, she was a daughter of Ocie May Belcher Owens and the late Ray W. Owens Sr. She was a graduate of Council High School and Southwest Community College. She was last employed as a cook at the Haysi Regional Jail and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ray W. Owens Jr., a sister, Eva Thomas and mother-in-law, Goldie Coleman.

In addition to her mother, Ocie Owens, survivors include her husband, Jerry Coleman, children, Alesia (Randall) Barton and Anthony “Bart” (Tiffany) Coleman and a granddaughter, Emily Barton, sisters, Mabeline (Roger) Stanley of Grundy, Dorothy Owens of Ten mile, TN, Tiny (Eddie) Stevens of Rosedale and several nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Sunday, September 6, 2020 at Haysi Funeral Home with Gary Wayne Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Coleman Family Cemetery, Cranesnest. Pallbearers will be Jason Rose, Chad Stevens, Adam O’quin, Marty Ratliff, Shane and Shawn Childress, Derek Owens and Jason Coleman.
