Haysi, VA- Robert Harrison Boyd, age 41, passed away Monday, June 29, 2020 at his home. Born in Richlands, VA, he was a son of Earl Robert and Hilda Owens Boyd. He was a 1997 Haysi High School graduate where he played High School football. He had a degree in Respiratory therapy, and attended the State Police Academy in 2004. He was last employed as a Virginia State Trooper working for Pennsylvania County for 9 years and Bland County for the past five years. He was a member of Paw Paw Old Regular Baptist church.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife, Rhonda Michelle Stanley Boyd, his children, Dylan Robert Boyd, Logan Reed Boyd and Raegan Michelle Boyd, a sister, Amanda (Clay) Boyd of Birchleaf, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kevin and Tabatha Stanley of Birchleaf, special nephews, Collin Stanley, Calyb Boyd, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Cathy and Dempsey Stanley and special friends from Franklin and Bland Counties.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Mountain View Old Regular Baptist Church with Elders, Rick Mullins,Jackie Yates, Andy Deel, Jeff Owens, Jimmy Amos and Roger Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Birchleaf, VA. Pallbearers will be Anthony Sanders, Kevin Stanley, Clay Boyd, Luther Hill, Mack and Jack Mullins, Jamie Deel and Ed Boyd.
