Clinchco, VA – Heather Renee Vonice Jean Baker, age 32 of Carson Street passed away at her home Thursday, June 18, 2020. Born March 13, 1988 in Wise, she was a daughter of Clayton Baker and Melissa Sutherland-Wright and step-father, Mark Wright. She was a 2006 graduate of Haysi High School and was of the Christian faith. She was a very caring and loving mother who loved her children with all that she was. She was also a very loving daughter, sister, aunt, sister-in-law, niece, cousin and friend. She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Shelby Owens and Verns Sutherland and paternal grandparents, Verlin and Vonice Baker, great-grandparents, Biddy and Linzie Breeding, an aunt, Shirley Kashat, uncles, Roy Baker and James Boyd and a cousin, Andrew Baker.
In addition to her parents she is survived by her daughters, Hannah Yates and Andrea Hackney; brother, James (Jennifer) Baker; nephew, Daniel Baker; nieces, Shyanna Baker, Katie Mullins and Haley Mullins; step brother, Michael Wright; step grandparents, Lee and Joyce Wright, her very best friend, Ciciley Rodriguez and her daughter, Sophia and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elder Jim Duty officiating. Burial will be at 12:00 noon on Thursday at the Barton Cemetery, Clinchco, VA.
