Clinchco, VA – Heather Renee Vonice Jean Baker, age 32 of Carson Street passed away at her home Thursday, June 18, 2020. Born March 13, 1988 in Wise, she was a daughter of Clayton Baker and Melissa Sutherland-Wright and step-father, Mark Wright. She was a 2006 graduate of Haysi High School and was of the Christian faith. She was a very caring and loving mother who loved her children with all that she was. She was also a very loving daughter, sister, aunt, sister-in-law, niece, cousin and friend. She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Shelby Owens and Verns Sutherland and paternal grandparents, Verlin and Vonice Baker, great-grandparents, Biddy and Linzie Breeding, an aunt, Shirley Kashat, uncles, Roy Baker and James Boyd and a cousin, Andrew Baker.
In addition to her parents she is survived by her daughters, Hannah Yates and Andrea Hackney; brother, James (Jennifer) Baker; nephew, Daniel Baker; nieces, Shyanna Baker, Katie Mullins and Haley Mullins; step brother, Michael Wright; step grandparents, Lee and Joyce Wright, her very best friend, Ciciley Rodriguez and her daughter, Sophia and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elder Jim Duty officiating. Burial will be at 12:00 noon on Thursday at the Barton Cemetery, Clinchco, VA.

I’m so sorry to hear about her death. We haven’t been the closest in family at all after her an my brother split up but I pray the girls Hannah an Andrea r ok they have been through a lot losing both parents

Her and her brother were like their grandparents Verlin and Voniece Baker children. I am so sorry for my uncle Clayton loss. Thinking and praying for her families loss.

For all the people that had known Heather---she was always 1 of a kind, shy, out-going, daughter, sister, friend, and Mother to her 2 beautiful girls. My husband & I would like to let the family know that they're in our prayers and she will be missed by all.

Heather was always quiet and shy she was my niece and I miss her she and my son Justin were close he always called her sissy and she called him her buddy she is missed dearly
