Haysi, VA- Brenda Gibson Deel, age 66, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at her home. Born in Buchanan County, she was a daughter of the late James and Gladys Gibson. She was a Hurley High School graduate, a homemaker and member of Russell Prater Old Regular Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Isiah, Luther and infant brother Nathan Gibson, sisters, Linda Bailey, Shirley Gibson, Wanda McDaniels and Bonnie Blankenship.
Survivors include her husband, Denny Deel, a daughter, Natasha Reshell (Michael) Yates a son, Michael Andre (Tracy) Deel, grandchildren, Justin Deel, Logan Deel (fiancé Sarah Leonard), Kasey Yates (fiancé Josh Deel), Alisha Yates, Olivia Yates and Colton Yates, Brittnay (Nate) Presley, Kayla (Seth) Bailey, Randy Deel, Jeremiah Deel and Bryson Leonard, great-grandchildren, Brinley Grace Deel and Rylann Lachelle Deel, Adalyn, Brylee and Cori Ann Presley, a brother, James (Jean) Gibson of Greenup, KY, sisters, Kathleen Bailey, Tennessee Smith, Sheila Gibson Hensley of Hurley, Evelyn (Harold) Looney of Vansant and sister-in-law, Vicki (AC) Fuller of Haysi and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Russell Prater Old Regular Baptist Church with Elders, Jerry Overstreet, Roger Coleman, Mark Justice, Toy Looney and Lance Looney officiating. Burial will follow in Blankenship Cemetery, Arcade Rd. Pallbearers will be S.E.P.T.I.C Inc. employees, Charlie Dean Deel, Michael G. Yates, special friends, Avery Yates and Daniel O’Quinn. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Roy Deel and staff and Dr. Mohamed Khasawneh and staff. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday after 5:00 p.m.
