Obituary for Euva Mae Conaway (Coleman)

Haysi, VA – Euva Mae Conaway, age 66 of Greenbrier Road, passed away Friday, November 29, 2019 at Heritage Hall Rehabilitation Center, in Grundy, VA, following a long illness and having double bypass surgery. Born in Buchanan County, she was a daughter of the late Fines and Vertie Oma Coleman. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for Heritage Hall for many years and retired at home as a homemaker to take care of her children following the death of her husband. She became ill starting in 2013 and was blessed to live six more years on this earth and is now in her heavenly home. She was of the Old Regular Baptist faith and a member at Russell Prater Old Regular Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Darlene Coleman, Linda (Clinton) Swiney, and Antha (Junior) Breeding and two brothers, Randy Coleman and Earl Coleman, and husband, Walter Conaway. Survivors include her two children, Marsha (David) Brookshire and William Conaway, both of Haysi, VA, 1 grandson, Braxton Brookshire and one brother, Darrell (Katherine) Coleman of Haysi, VA, and sister-in-law Betty Coleman and precious nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00am Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Russell Prater Old Regular Baptist Church with Elders Roger Coleman, Mark Justice, and Andy Deel officiating. Burial will follow in Parrot Deel Cemetery, Greenbrier, VA. Pallbearers include Darrell Coleman, Percy Coleman, Randy Coleman, Ricky Stacy, Jeffrey Deel, and Clinard Coleman. Honorary pallbearers will be William Conaway, David Brookshire, Fresenius Kidney Care Southwest Virginia Dialysis, Pikeville Medical Center, Heritage Hall, and Vansant Baptist Church. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 3, at Haysi Funeral Home with an evening service at 7:00 p.m. with Scotty Swiney and David O’Quinn officiating. Friends may also be received after 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, at Russell Prater Old Regular Baptist Church with an evening service at 7:00 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com.
