Obituary for Rita Edwards (Fern)
Grundy, VA- Rita Fern Edwards, age 58, went to be with the Lord Thursday, November 14, 2019 at the home of her sister, Joann Woods after a long illness. Born April 9, 1961 in Richlands, VA, she was a daughter of the late Carl Frank and Lillie Esther Lyall Edwards. She was of the Primitive Baptist faith.
She leaves to mourn her step-dad, Cecil Edwards of Birchleaf, a brother, Carl Wayne Edwards of Clinchco, two sisters, Joanne (Bruce) Woods of Grundy and Rebecca Sherlene (Monroe) Mullins of Clinchco, three nephews, Derek Wayne Edwards, Ethan Craig Mullins and Donavan (Glenda) Turner all of Clinchco, two nieces, Tesia Lynn (Christopher Wayne) Meade of Clintwood and Samantha Jolene (Jonas) Ringl of Louisville, KY, a great-niece, Kinsley Mullins and two great-nephews, Noah and Malachi Turner all of Clinchco, uncles, Goble (Kathy) Lyall of Clinchco and Gerald (Judy) Lyall of Harmon, three aunts, Jean (Bud) Moore of Skeetrock, Sharon (Kermit) Mullins of Caney Ridge and Roxie (Don) Brooks all of Haysi.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Roger Fuller, Jim Duty and Garnell Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow in Nathan Edwards Cemetery, Birchleaf, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
