Haysi, VA- Donnie Hall, 47, went to be with the Lord Sunday, October 13, 2019. Born in Richlands, VA, he was the loving son of the late Larry Hall and his extraordinary mother, Justine Woods. He was a child of God and was of the Pentecostal faith. He graduated Haysi High School in 1990 and was last employed as a coal miner. The family asks friends to remember his vivacious personality and loving heart. He was a man you could not be around if you were anything but happy. His energy was contagious and he never knew a stranger. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Draxie and Junior Woods and paternal grandfather, Lonzo Hall.
In addition to his mother, his family is left to carry his love through his children, Caitlin (Cory) Dinkel of Austin, TX, April (Scott) Boyd, Cody (Melony) and Caleb (Jennifer) Hall all of Haysi, his grandchildren, Aubrey, Conner, Braxton, Case, Nolan, Emily and Mayleigh, one sister, Lori (Clinton) Yates, his grandmother, Snoda Mullins Rose of Birchleaf, special uncles, Dean (Becky) Woods and Darrel (Becky) Woods, nephews, Cole (Cheyenne), Percy, Cage and Christian Yates all of Haysi, his great nieces and nephew, Lauren, Levi and Lillimae, a lot of cousins who he loved dearly and his lifelong love, Lila Hall. The family would like to thank everyone who prayed and checked on him through his sickness. It was a true testament to the kind of person Donnie was and how many people he really impacted.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Haysi Funeral Home with Jeff Tiller officiating. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home prior to funeral services. Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Woods Cemetery, Hay Ridge Road, Clinchco, VA. Pallbearers will be Cody and Caleb Hall, Cole, Percy, Cage and Christian Yates. Honorary pallbearers will be Clinton Yates and Scott Boyd. Haysi Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
