Haysi, VA- Kristofer Cee Hawkins, age 25, of Welcome Lane, passed away Friday, September 20, 2019 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. Born in Richlands, VA, he was a son of Melissa Hawkins Loan and the late Cecil Hawkins. He played football and basketball for Grundy High School graduating in 2013. He was last employed by Ken’s Construction, was an avid fisherman and attended Trinity Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Avia and Henry Hawkins and Donald Loan and aunt, Judy Adkins.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Shasta Hawkins, daughter, Miley, a sister, Christina (Joshua) Hess of Swords Creek and a brother, Gabriel (Celena) Hawkins of Ft. Campbell, KY, maternal grandparents, Carol and Harold Kinder, step-grandfather, James Pete Stiltner, nieces and nephews, Kadance Hess, Aubree Hess, Harley Dales and Kinsley Dales, special sister-in-law, Megan Hackney and special aunt and uncle, Alicia and J.R. Stiltner.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at Haysi Funeral Home with Roy Lee Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Rice Cemetery,Grundy, VA. Pallbearers will be Gabriel Hawkins, Josh Hess, Anthony Owens, Gavin Nash-Cleek, Garland Cleek, Harold Kinder, Tyler Robinson and Logan Robinson. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 24 at the funeral home with an evening service at 7:00 p.m.
