Vansant, VA- Gola Hale Presley, age 88 of Hurricane Creek, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Buchanan General Hospital in Grundy, VA. Born in Buchanan County, she was a daughter of the late Marion and Maudie Lockhart Hale. She was a Council High School graduate. She worked at Honaker Mills and was an Avon lady for many years. She was of the Primitive Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Howell, a son, Emil Presley, brothers, Eulis, Clyde, Herb and Pete and sisters, Lee Ora and Artie. Gola was the last surviving member of her family.
Survivors include a daughter, Justina (Freddie) Fuller, a granddaughter, Lana Reed, a grandson, Freddie (Paula) Fuller Jr., great-grandchildren, Hannah, Lucy, Lacey, Luca, Gabe and Raegan, special person, Lora Gilbert, her daughter, Cassandra and husband Bill and their children, Payton, Katelynn and Kamdon, special caregivers, Marie Adolph and Angie and Olivia Presley and special thanks to aide, Donna Breeding and employees of Home Nursing in Lebanon, VA.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Garnell Gilbert and Jim Duty officiating. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday prior to funeral services. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Presley Cemetery, Vansant, VA. Pallbearers will be Freddie Fuller Jr.,Roger, J.C. and Brian Hale, Mike Newton, Shawn Deel, Cliff Presley and Stevie Owens. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Hale, Matawaska Presley and J.G. Patel.
