Haysi, VA- Jackie Fleming, age 78 of Laurel Branch Road, passed away, Thursday, July 25, 2019 at his home. Born in Dickenson County, he was a son of the late Hurshell Mullins and Bessie Fleming Crabtree. He was a coal miner, retiring from Clinchfield Coal Company, a member of Local UMWA # 7170 and was a member of Splashdam Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Billy Joe Mullins and Roger Mullins and a sister, Carolyn Thompson.
Survivors include his wife, Maude, children, Linda (Cecil) Tipton, Michael (Myra) Fleming both of Haysi, Kathy (Kevin) Deel of Bee and Eric (Billie) Fleming of Breaks, a brother, Danny Mullins of Alexandria, VA and sisters, Kay Rudd, Lois Profitt, Judy Wright and Mora Anderson, grandchildren, Krista (Chris) Anderson, Tabitha (Kevin) Stanley, Brandon (Brittany) Deel, Blake Fleming, Kaillen Deel, Hunter Fleming and Zoe Owens, great-grandchildren, Caden, Parker, Sophie, Collin, Elijah and Brantley. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sandlick PTO at New Peoples Bank attn: Kathy Deel.
A Graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Deel Cemetery, Haysi, VA with Columbus Fleming officiating. Family will serve as pallbearers. Haysi Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
