Bee, VA- Mac Arthur Rasnake, age 77, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2019. Born in Buchanan County, he was a son of the late Abraham and Lucy Tennessee Boyd Rasnake. He was a 1961 Council High School graduate and served in the U.S Army during Vietnam. He worked for Clinchfield at the Company store in Duty, VA and for United Coal as a coal car operator. He was of the Freewill Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Craig Rasnake, sisters, Nancy Ellen Compton and Alice Boyd and brothers, Samuel, Billy, George and Earl Rasnake.
Survivors include his wife, Reca Mae Blair Rasnake, daughters, Tonia Rasnake of Denver, CO and Angela (Nick) Dunford, a son, Todd Dunford and several grandchildren, sisters, Inez Lester of Huber Heights, OH, Merle (Mike) Plaster of Belfast, Joann Lindsay of WV and Fredia (Russell) Street of London, OH and best friend, Denver Stiltner.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Haysi Funeral Home with Roy Lee Wilson and Don Sullivan officiating. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home prior to funeral service. Military Graveside Rites will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Mountain Home Veteran’s Cemetery, Johnson City, TN.
