Birchleaf, VA- Laura Janette Briest, age 69 of Briest Hill, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 11:15 at her home. Born in Highland Park Michigan, she was a daughter of the late Fred E. and Gertie Owens Robinson. She was last employed as a driver for Four County Transit. She was a member of Splashdam Freewill Baptist Church and a member of Haysi Clinchco Lions Club.
Surviors include her husband, Robert Briest, three daughters, Melissa (Michael) Mooney of MI, Kim Briest of Birchleaf and Jennifer (Steven) Albino of Waynesboro, VA, a son, Bobby Lee Mullins, grandchildren, William, Joseph and Caitlin, great-grandchilden, Madelynn and Miyah, sisters, Brenda (William) Mooney of Birchleaf and Joyce (Gary) Vance and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 3, 2019 at Splashdam Freewill Baptist Church with Danny Sluss and Gary Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow in Owens Cemetery, Birchleaf, VA. Pallbearers will be Scott, Brad and Shelten Vieau, William and Joseph Mooney and John Vance.
