Birchleaf, VA- Desal Anderson, age 83 of Anderson Lane, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019. Born in Buchanan County, she was a daughter of the late James “Jim” and Martha Sullivan Lambert. She was a graduate of Council High School, a homemaker and member of Sulpher Springs Primitive Baptist Church. She was a former member of Sandlick Community Association, Dickenson County Historical Society and many other Civic Organizations. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Victor Anderson, and brothers, Lincoln Lambert and Elmer Lambert.
Survivors include two sons, Billy (Rhonda) Anderson Jr. of Grundy, VA and David Anderson of Leesburg, VA, grandchildren, Sara and Rhea Anderson, a brother, Kenneth (Alma) Lambert of Bee, VA sisters, Sylvia Barton of Hansonville, VA, Sara (Jimmy) Stevens of Bristol, VA, Ruby Musick of Bee, VA, Leona (Dolphus) Cutshaw of Greeneville, TN and Glady (Jack) Pleasants of Scottsville, VA.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2019 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Roger Fuller and George Ben Combs officiating. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home prior to funeral services. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2019 at A.J Edwards Cemetery, Birchleaf, VA. Pallbearers will be nephews. Haysi Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
