KATHY SUE SMITH
Dante, VA- Kathy Sue Smith, age 67 of Woodland Drive, passed away Monday, May 6, 2019 at her home. Born in Dickenson County, she was a daughter of the late Tolby and Faye Owens Anderson. She was a homemaker and an avid church goer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arley Charles Smith, a sister, Patty Anderson, two brothers, Jim Anderson and Gerald Anderson and a sister-in-law, Joyce Anderson.
Survivors include two sons, Scotty Q-ball (Renee) Smith of Clintwood and Michael Shawn Smith of Abingdon, a daughter, Carrie (Mickey) Phillips of Dante, a sister, Sandy (Bobby) Brown of Clintwood, grandchildren, Anna Smith, Austin Phillips, Grayson Hamilton, Eli Hamilton, Taylin Hamilton, Kayleigh Riley, Gracie Phillips, Josie Phillips, Colden Phillips and Reagan Smith and special sisters at heart, Becky Woods, Sandy Marshall and Marsha Breeding.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Haysi Funeral Home with Danny Meade and Mike Stidham officiating. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. prior to funeral services. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at A.J. Edwards Cemetery, Birchleaf, VA.
