Clinchco, VA- Loretta Nancy Viers, age 85, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Born September 11, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Virgil and Allifare Turner. She retired as a manager from Elias Brothers “Big Boy” in Hazel Park, Michigan and relocated home to the hills of Virginia in 1973. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and quilting. Her greatest joy in life was her loving family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, George W. Viers, a son, Lonnie Patrick Viers, a brother, Ronny Virgil Turner and sisters, Patricia Yates and Thelma Gay Vanover.
Survivors include sons, Curtis George Viers of Clinton Township, MI, Terry Preston Viers of Clinchco and Keith Larson Viers and wife Shelia of Clintwood and a daughter, Nicole Noel Viers (Joe Short) of Clintwood, 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and sisters, Lois (Gene) Edwards and Theda June Deel both of MI.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Haysi Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Hutchinson officiating. The family will receive friends after 5:00 p.m. on Saturday prior to funeral services. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 30, at Turner Family Cemetery, Backbone Ridge. Pallbearers will be her loving grandchildren.
