KATHLEEN “KATHY” JEWEL HILL
Haysi, VA- Kathleen “Kathy” Jewell Hill, age 79 of Wagon Trail, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at Buchanan General Hospital in Grundy, VA. She was a daughter of the late Kasbie and Mary Edwards. She was last employed as a Nurse’s Aid at Buchanan General Hospital and was a member of Splashdam Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Finas Arlin Hill, a daughter, Shirley Hogston and brothers, Kermit “Ray” Mullins, Mack Edwards and Roger Edwards.
Survivors include a granddaughter, Amanda (Bobby) Perrigan of Haysi and a grandson, Daniel “D.J.” (Chika) Hogston of Japan, son-in-law, Karl Hogston of Parisburg, VA, 5 great-granddaughters, Alexandria Perrigan, Julianna Perrigan, Isabella Perrigan, Gwendolyn Perrigan and Hinata Hogston, a great-grandson, Asahi Hogston and a brother, Hamilton Edwards.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 31, 2018 at Haysi Funeral Home with Danny Sluss and Darrell Milgrim officiating. Burial will follow in Hill Family Cemetery, Haysi, VA. Pallbearers will be Deacons of Splashdam Freewill Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Hogston, Karl Hogston, Bobby Perrigan and Onis Hogston. The family will receive friends after 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home prior to funeral service.
