SHELBY JEAN OWENS

Haysi, VA- Shelby Jean Owens, age 78 of Leslie Lane, passed away Monday, May 7, 2018 at her home. Born in Prater, VA, she was a daughter of the late Holly and Rosa Deel Owens. She was a Haysi High School graduate and was last employed as a garment turner in the Sewing Factory. She was of the Primitive Baptist faith.
Survivors include several cousins, friends and neighbors. Brenda O’quinn, friend and neighbor, Judy Woods, friend and care giver for 9 years and Dalton Deel who was like a grandson to her.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Garnell Gilbert, Noah Kim Edwards and Jim O’Quinn officiating. Burial will follow at A.F. Deel Cemetery, Birchleaf, VA. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
