Gorman Gilbert

Richlands, VA - Gorman Gilbert, age 62, passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. Born in Dickenson County, he was a son of the late Lacy Lee and Goldie Burns Barton Gilbert. He was last employed at a coal dock. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Grady Gilbert.
Survivors include four daughters, Sharon Powell, Patricia (Tim) Vinson of Dante, VA, Brenda (Eddie) Lothery of Coeburn, VA, and Elaine (Jason) Hale of Haysi, VA, grandchildren, Michael Thomas, Cory Vinson, Alex, Shawn, and Colten Hale, and three others, brothers and sisters, Ona Bowman of OH, Floria Hay of FL, Bonnie (Jack) Dodson of St. Paul, VA, Retha Baird of St. Paul, Delmer Gilbert of Marion, FL, T.T. Gilbert of Evon, TN, and Elmer Gilbert.
Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 noon, Saturday, May 1, 2010 at Haysi Funeral Home with Andy Presley officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson-Gilbert Cemetery, Bee, VA. Grandsons, nephews, and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home where a song service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to haysifuneral.com
