Clintwood, VA- Elsie Faye Flint, age 75, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, TN. Born in Dickenson County, she was a daughter of the late Raymond Ross and Bessie Smith Owens. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Patrick Flint, sisters, Mazie Owens, Delphia Owens, Dixie Gilbert and brothers, Utah, Clifford, Gerald, Garmon Lee and Bernard Owens.
Survivors include her husband, Richard D. Flint, a daughter, Mona (Ervin) Turner of Clintwood, a daughter-in-law, Melissa Flint Davis, grandchildren, Shane Turner, Jayde (Jaydester) Turner, Chelsie Turner, Tyler Davis, Kayla Flint and Hannah Flint, great-grandchildren, Gavin, Elle Fayth and Connor, a sister, Ruby Colley of Clintwood, a special niece, Melinda Wallen and several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elder Garnell Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow in Phipps Cemetery, Clintwood, VA. Pallbearers will be Ervin Turner, Shane Turner, Dustin Moore, Michael Sutherland, Michael Dunn, Byron Edwards, Chris Gilbert, Kevin Flint, also special pallbearers, grandkids. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Davis, Corbett McCowan and Chester Flint. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. Saturday, February 17, at Haysi Funeral Home.
