Norman Wade Sykes
Clinchco, VA – Norman Wade Sykes, age 49 of Backbone Ridge, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018 at his residence. He was a son of Evon Wood Sykes and the late Norman “Jack” Sykes. He was last employed by the truck shop for the county. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Cheryl Arlene Sykes.
In addition to his mother, survivors include a daughter, Desirea Sykes of Clinchco, three sisters, Janice (Snake) Wood of Haysi, Lana (Barry) Mullins of Clinchco, and Jenny Sykes of Clinchco, and several nieces, great-nieces, nephews, and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Haysi Funeral Home with Joe Glenn Sluss and Danny Sluss officiating. Burial will follow in the Barton Cemetery, Clinchco. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan Mullins, Chris Wood, and Snake Wood. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 7, at the funeral home where a song service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com.
