Obituary for Jarvis Lucas Davis

Jarvis Lucas  Davis
Belleview, FL- Jarvis Lucas Davis, age 84, entered the gates of Heaven on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 after a short illness. Born July 23, 1932 in Viers, VA, he was a son of the late Joseph and Josie Viers Davis. He was last employed as a truck driver and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Church of Christ for 64 years, he loved his God. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 30 years, Shelvie Jean Wampler Davis, second wife of 14 years, Mary Ann Davis, a son, Wendell Stewart Davis, sisters, Evelyn Maynard and Virginia Davis and a brother, Leon Davis.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty (Jamie) Willis of Haysi, three sons, Richard Davis of Bristol, Johnny (Starlette) Davis of Clyde, OH and David (Brenda) Davis of Haysi, 7 grandchildren, Brandon Willis, Dustin Davis, Terry and Michael Hall, Debbie Ball and Jamie and Stephanie Collins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 noon Monday, June 12, 2017 at Haysi Church of Christ with Jerry Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson Cemetery, Rakes Ridge, Birchleaf, VA. VFW Post #8979 of Clintwood, VA will conduct Military Graveside rites. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at the church prior to funeral service.
