Haysi, VA- Clarence Mullins, age 83 of Allen Branch, passed away Monday, May 22, 2017 at Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, TN. Born in Dickenson County, he was a son of the late Hazel Mullins. He was a coal miner and member of UMWA Local #7170 and member and deacon of Old Fashioned Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shelby Jean Mullins, a son, David C. Mullins and a brother, Ernest Leonard.
Survivors include his children and grandchildren, Ronnie Mullins, Beverly J. Mullins, Richard (Lee) Mullins, Levi Travis (Sabrina) Mullins and Sheila (Ryan)Wallace all of Haysi, Ryan (Mycah) Mullins of Grundy, Vickie Mullins and Michelle Caldwell of Jackson, KY, Joshua K. Mullins of Chicago, ILL, Jeremy Elkins of Virgie, KY and Priscella (John) Hall of Castlewood, great-grandchildren, Hunter Hill, Skylar Rain Elkins, Keyon’dre Caldwell, Riverr Elkins, Ryanna Mullins, Sophie Mullins, Carson Wallace, Kallie Wallace, Callie Elkins, Elijah Clifton and Myla Mullins, a sister, Maggie (Caudle) Mullins of Clintwood and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Haysi Funeral Home with Eddie Street officiating. Burial will follow in Mullins-Sweeney Cemetery, Haysi, Va. Pallbearers will be Ronnie, Ryan and Levi Mullins, Don Fleming, Arthur Hall and Jeremy Elkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Mullins, Arthur Sweeney, Roger Hall and Mike Elkins. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24 at the funeral home with an evening service at 7:00 p.m. with Benny Hopkins and Ralph Wallace officiating.
