ELSTER MCCLANAHAN JR.
Vansant, VA- Elster McClanahan Jr., age 58 of Bear Branch Road, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Myrtle Beach, SC. Born in Buchanan County, he was a son of the late Elster and Mae White McClanahan, Sr. He was a coal miner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Alex and Grace White and paternal grandparents, Wiley and Cora McClanahan, brothers, Randy and Douglas McClanahan.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah McClanahan, a daughter, Brittany McClanahan of Vansant, a son, Terry (Leslie) McClanahan of Pounding Mill, grandchildren, Issac, Caden and Bree McClanahan, sisters, Wanda (Randall) Clevinger of Maxie, Sharon McClanahan and Jennifer (Charles) Hackney both of Grundy and Ronald (Charlotte) McClanahan of Abingdon and Dallas (Sherry) McClanahan of Grundy. The family would like to send special thanks to New Beginnings Pulmonary and Marcy Tate for the kindness that was shown. Visitation will be conducted on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Haysi Funeral Home.
