Betty Louise  Davis (Browning)
Beaverton, OR- Betty Louise Davis, age 88, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at The Springs in Sherwood, OR. Born in Riceboro, GA, she was the eldest daughter of the late Charles and Ellen Thomas Browning. She was a secretary at Savannah Army Air base, executive secretary for base agencies and initial implementation of the Enviromental Protection Agency and worked at the Pentagon in Washington, DC. Mrs. Davis also worked for Sen. Sam Irwin and Sen. Abourezk’s. She was an avid tennis player and walker, who also enjoyed sewing, reading, playing dominoes, traveling and spending time with family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Brady James Davis, sisters, Shirley, Jean and Joyce, a brother, Charles, mother-in-law, Artha Davis and sister-in-law, Minnie Davis.
Survivors include a son, Harold Davis and wife Debbie of Beaverton, OR, a daughter, Pat Bergin of Hawaii, granddaughters, Lisa Long and Kiki Campbell, 5 great-grandchildren, Joseph, Micah, Issac, Lydia and Braelyn and a sister, Marie Deyo of Ohio.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Haysi Funeral Home with Nick Brewer officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson-Davis Cemetery, Birchleaf, VA. Pallbearers will be Carter Edwards, Nick Brewer, Billy Bergin, Mike Hill, and Mike and Joseph Long. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home prior to funeral service.
