Jerry Lee Sutherland

Birchleaf, VA – Jerry Lee Sutherland, age 60, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Clintwood, VA. Born in Norfolk, VA, he was a son of the late Gene and Nell Fuller Sutherland. He was last employed as a coal miner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Stillwell and Loretta Bartley.
Survivors include his wife, Sandy Hess Sutherland, a son, Pat (Misty) Sutherland of Haysi, a daughter, Cherida (Todd) Owens of Haysi, brother, Bobby Ray (Peggy) Mullins of Bee, VA, four grandchildren, Chasity Sutherland, Brittney Church, Shae Sutherland, and Jade Church, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Haysi Funeral Home with Darrell Thacker officiating. Burial will follow in the Sutherland Family Cemetery, Bee. Pallbearers will be Bobby Mullins, Tyler Mullins, Joey Yates, Mike Mullins, Monte Mullins, and family and friends.
