Clinchco, VA- Dwight David Rasnake, age 60, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Russell County Medical Center in Lebanon, VA. Born in Dickenson County, he was a son of the late Robert and Lorrine Sullivan Rasnake. He was a coal miner with Paramont Coal. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Betty Edwards.
Survivors include his wife, Carol L. Rasnake, a daughter, Jennifer (Fate) Fleming of Clintwood, four sons, Jeffrey (Danielle) Rasnake of Bristol, Ronnie (Amanda) Rasnake of Clintwood, Scott (Amy) Rasnake of Haysi and Chubby Rasnake of the home, two sisters, Christina (Junior) Gilbert of Bee and Diana Boozer of Norton, three brothers, Richard Rasnake of Bee, Danny (Mary) Rasnake of Rosedale and Randy (Christy) Rasnake of Clintwood, grandchildren, Alex, Destiny, Maddie, Brayden, Landon, Breanna, Jordon, Kiara, Raven, Kaylee, Peyton, Khloe, Kolton and Ashton and father-in-law, L.C. Edwards and friend, Jeanette Bostic.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Garnell Gilbert, Barrett McGlothin and Jim Duty officiating. Burial will follow in Nathan Edwards Cemetery, Clinchco, VA. Pallbearers will be sons and Alex Fleming. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Deel, Richard, Randy and Danny Rasnake. The family will receive friends after 5:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home with an evening service at 6:00 p.m. with Elders Jim O’quinn. Price Viers and Roger Fuller officiating.
